I noticed one of my machines had no work and the server status shows Zero work to send. Can we have more work please. As far as I know the number of task that can be generated on a day is limited. So I think the project is running at the maximum speed.

The reason for no work currently been sent is because gene_work_generator isn't running. Reason could be to allow "work units waiting for validation" to drop to 0. It currently has 0 waiting. I cannot be 100% sure but I think the reason for "no work" is related related to the thread titled "Storage Problem" located in the news thread

they did mention many years ago they only make 62080 units a day. I don't know if that still applies. hopefully the hungry get units to crunch soon :)

I run it along with SiDock. Ljubljana is 265 km due east of Trento.

Look forward to more tasks once the generator catches up. :)

Well, by driving it is more than 440Km (fastest route, around 4 hours) I have other criteria. I was at Aviano Air Base for two years, which is approximately half-way between them. It is geographically balanced for me.

Does the Work Generator need a little adjustment? I've been getting a lot of Server Aborts. It appears that shortly before the Deadline another pair of WUs is sent out to new computers then when the WUs actually get submitted before the Deadline the duplicates get Server Aborted. E.g.,

I suppose it can be a pain in the butt and not ideal since you'd expect the full 5 days to complete and report the work unit.

I suppose it can be a pain in the butt and not ideal since you'd expect the full 5 days to complete and report the work unit. I never set a 5 day cache. Where'd you get that idea? I always use either 0.5/0.01 days or 1.0/0.01 days. I prefer RZM but lately there's been so much demand for WUs that lets me dry out. Maybe the races are over and I should go back to RZM. I'm not the one that waited until near the deadline. I'm one of the ones that got the replacement WUs. Then within a couple of hours of the deadline for the original WUs they submit them at the last minute and the replacement WUs get Server Aborted. If the replacement WUs were not sent out until after the deadline then this should never happen.

Tasks ready to send 0 Why would anyone set up a challenge involving a project that is known to be borderline supplying WUs on a day to day basis? Not only does it make the challenge a lottery, it also messes up the long term volunteers.

Why would anyone set up a challenge involving a project that is known to be borderline supplying WUs on a day to day basis? With respect, the Project Admin was asked, IN ADVANCE, as to whether such a Challenge could be handled by the project. However, the admin said that the project only issues about 600 tasks every 14 minutes... Even so, this Challenge only lasts for 3 days (until Sunday at 9pm UTC) so it is hardly a long term inconvenience AND any members doing this Challenge are supporting a "smaller" project that can do with some short term help? regards Tim
