Thank you both. I haven't seen any of these yet.
619 genes based on that table.

Can you provide a list of genes related to this work?

1 - IIRC, because such a move would increase the number of participants by far too much for the server to handle.

2 - The project is accepting more participants. They just need to use the invitation code available on the homepage.

Correct, TN-Grid runs faster under Linux.
At Universe@home, the BHSpin tasks run much faster on Linux as well (over 50% IIRC).

Projects at WCG that use the AutoDock Vina software are around 50-60% faster on Linux (such as the Smash Childhood Cancer project, which has no work right now).

The issue is your BOINC version.
Update to 7.16.20 and the issue will be fixed (updated authentication certificates).

What URL are you using?
What device are you trying to connect? Android?

I think there is a team import function on the BOINC Server Software but maybe TN-Grid didn't activate that when it was created.
So yes, if the team isn't present at TN-Grid, it has to be created.

Hello,

If it doesn't come up, then I assume it hasn't been created at TN-Grid yet.
You should create it and notify your team members.

Have you tried a reboot? Regardless, I have one task that's waiting to upload as well but I assume it's because of the server issues that TN-Grid has been having for quite a while now (problem is at the University, not at the project itself).

Work generator is down and there are no tasks ready to send.

Nothing to do but wait.

Nice, glad to hear it's working.

I think Mac wasn't affected just like Linux wasn't because they get their certificates from the OS (which are thus up to date) as opposed to the Windows version which has a file shipped with BOINC and is only updated when you update BOINC (and assuming the file was updated by the devs).

Have you tried a project reset? I have a device that had 1 stuck TN-Grid task since October 25th and it just wouldn't upload. The error was different though (transient http error). I reset the project and it could contact the project again. It didn't download any work since there isn't any at TN-Grid because they are having storage issues at the University.

Yes, a more powerful server.

This is from late March: https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/forum_thread.php?id=129&postid=2274

"Well, the WU ready to send are just around 16000...The server is still the old little one. We found some money and ordered a new server, no ETA right now. When ready to do the upgrade we will for sure post a news here."

Maybe there's an updated ETA, valterc?

If I had to guess, I'd say that CPU is very old and the app may not be compatible with it. Probably would need a new, compiled version to work.

I'd either retire the CPU or find some other project where it actually works. Do keep in mind it is an old, power hungry and inneficient CPU.

This is kind of an experiment, I know this CPU is old. If we talk about energy efficiency, I am from Russia and electricity is relatively cheap here, in my case 0.031 €.
I have several of these old computer hardware, they are working, and I am a little sorry that they are gathering dust idle.
At the moment, WCG (Mapping Cancer Markers) is running on this CPU with a runtime of about 8 hours.

It's a bit of a shame that older CPUs don't have support compared to the same mobile ARM chips that probably have similar performance. But I don’t insist.

Best regards.

But it is environmentally not very friendly.

ARM is a growing architecture. There are many more ARM devices than there are old CPUs like the Celeron you have or Pentium 4s or old Athlons. Not to mention a 4-core ARM device will put out a lot more work than the Celeron for a mere fraction of the power consumption.

The last computer I owned with a Pentium 4 used up around 130 watts at 100% usage. I have a 2013 tablet with an Intel Z3740 SOC that runs MCM in 7-8 hours but uses just 9 watts - not an ARM-based tablet but you get the point.

If it's running MCM successfully, that's good. You could also try Linux and see if it runs TN-Grid. If it does, you also get the added benefit of a performance improvement since TN-Grid is known to run quite a quicker under Linux than under Windows - although I'm not sure that applies to 32-bit architectures.
