(Message 1636)
Posted 15 Nov 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] It's not only this. TN Gridi is very memory-intensive project At the end of tihs thread (las 6-7 post) you can see the answer from Daniel ( a project's developer) to my specific question http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/forum_thread.php?id=135&sort_style=8&start=150 TN-Grid love high speed RAM @Millenium, if you can, try to overclock RAM |

Too late for validation after 6 days?? WTF??!
(Message 1629)
Posted 31 Oct 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] You should really think about how you deal with volunteers and their effort in this project. Failed WUs because there are some hours over deadline are a waste of time, electric power and money. I've got something better to do, maybe find some prime numbers. I'm just a BOINC volunteer like you. Mine was just a suggestion, because you can encounter it with all projects with short deadline Regarding wu returned too late, my most recent experience has happened with WCG last week: no credit earned I don't know if others projects take in account that |

(Message 1623)
Posted 26 Oct 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] As shown in the link above, every project has it's own deadline, depending on their specific needs. It vary form 1 day (WCG FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2) to 347 days (climateprediction.net) Every project need a litte optimization made by the user: for exaple on your laptop, you can set to download less work |

(Message 1518)
Posted 2 Mar 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] It is a normal practice for each challenge issued on every project. When starting date and hour is set (in this case March 4th 0:00 UTC) you calculate when you can begin download wu to return after the challenge is started (in this case 5 or les days). The user is interest to execute wu an upload them, before deadline to recieve credit. Personally, doing bunker, i do some maths to calculate the right amount of wu needed in this period However many user don't do this By the way, theese challenge are kind of boost for the project, because maybe some partecipant decide to stay on the project It's also a server' stability test |

Posted 2 Mar 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] All theese wu are only bunker fo the upcoming challenge on the project, issued by TSBT, starting March 4th http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/forum_thread.php?id=241 You can avoid the wu limit (10wu per core) increasing the value "ncpus" in the cc_config.xml (only in the bunker construction phase) |

Report Deadlines
(Message 1495)
Posted 11 Feb 2019 by Buro87 [Lombardia] It happen on all project. if you have a lot wu with tight deadline, boin try to finish them. For example yesterday on WCG with subproject FAH (1 day deadline)and MIP (10 days), boinc complete firs all FAH wu because i have set request for 3 days work. If you have the internet connection always on, try to set request work for 1 day or less. In that case boinc will switch project because it see that wu are not so in hurry |

If you are in the middle of long checkpoint, and you turn off your pc, you'll come back to the previously checkpoint, losing your time. One wu stay at 52% for 9h. Total run time 33h |

Posted 3 May 2018 by Buro87 [Lombardia] http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/show_host_detail.php?hostid=13464 if you click on "Application details" you can see that: the sse2 version is more profitable for you (3,40 GFlops) against avx (2,83 GFlops) this is the reason why you recieve much more sse2 wus |
