They actually managed to order a new server:

"The server is still the old little one. We found some money and ordered a new server, no ETA right now. When ready to do the upgrade we will for sure post a news here."

That's really good news.
I hope it arrives soon.

Still interested in how these resources are being used if at all... If you're allowed to publicly disclose this information, I would appreciate sharing them with us. It's been a while... Just saying

The granting of the aforementioned resources has been delayed, don't know the reasons, I guess that they were actually building up a new computing center from scratch and had some problems. Anyway, they told us to wait until the beginning of January.

I hope you have access to the AMD resources by now.

The reason the project isn't on the BOINC Manager list is because the project cannot handle the large influx of users and devices that would result from that addition. The server just isn't powerful enough.

Yes, Linux is significantly faster than Windows.

EDIT: Just realised I replied to 1 year old thread lol

Hah ha ha. And made Mikey a liar as he is running a RPi4 now over at Einstein at least.

lol

"Ms Frederiksen cited a government report which said the mutated virus had been found to weaken the body's ability to form antibodies, potentially making the current vaccines under development for Covid-19 ineffective."

I know, but still - everyone has at least one notebook/pc ;)

Of course, it would be nice if they contributed regularly )

Why students don't crunch? You see a lot of them here, everyone with 0 points :(

I don't know, but the latest paper appears to have been at least partially based on the results of two of these student projects, so we can be assured it's good science.

drug repositioning

I'm not familiar with this term. Is it similar to repurposing or off-label use?

Wikipedia says it's the same as drug repurposing.

I just finished reading it. Very exciting!
Perhaps this paper could be sent on a few grant requests for a new server.

Thank you.

Yes, this project requires 2 results per workunit for validation.

They submitted a grant request for a new server several months. Not sure how that went.
If they can't get a new server, then they cannot have many more volunteers.
That's why this project isn't listed in the official BOINC project list.

Looks like the same on other BOINC forums:

Type the URL, select it and hit the URL button. Then add = on the first URL bracket so it looks like [url=Enter the URL]. You then name it whatever you want in between the 2 brackets.

80) Message boards : Number crunching : Server Status - No Work Available (Message 1974)
Posted 30 Sep 2020 by Falconet
Work is indeed being created but it's taken very quickly.
Number of tasks in progress rose from 29,000ish last night to 33,500 right now.
Number of available tasks dropped from 480 to 314 in about 5 minutes or so.

Hopefully work creation can be increased but it may not be possible due to server capacity.
