2) Screensaver

We think about it, and it will eventually develop. So far we had and we are still having more important issues to resolve.

It's time for a screensaver??

I have no idea what changed in these weeks, I did not change anything in my pc and I only updated the bios back in august.

Asus released other 2 bios for your motherboard, the 0808 and the most recent 0902 with AGESA 1.0.0.6b

Thanks to an AGESA-Update with the new Beta-Bios for my ASUS Prime B350-Plus the FMA-App is noe working fine with my R7 1700.
It realy was the FMA-Bug of the new Ryzen Processor that caused the problem.

Did you install a BETA bios??? :-O

We had to check the compatibility with the previous version so a few hundred workunits still have this big output file. (You were unlucky to get them....)

:-P
No problem

The only application available now is the linux x64 sse2 version, the others will follow shortly.

No problem here with my Ubuntu vm
But output file is 5,7 mb....

Today i finish my 0.10 queue, but when i try to download new works, i receive this message:

TN-Grid Platform | Requesting new tasks for CPU
TN-Grid Platform | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
TN-Grid Platform | No tasks sent
TN-Grid Platform | Tasks are committed to other platforms

I'm NOT using anonymous platform and i reset the project, without results on my Windows 10 64bit.
Have i to detach and reattach the project?

I have just uploaded Windows binaries to https://bitbucket.org/sirzooro/pc-boinc/downloads. In order to install them, please stop BOINC, extract files to <BOINC_Data_Dir>\projects\gene.disi.unitn.it_test\ and start BOINC again. Their speed is comparable with Linux ones. They have (Opti) appended to displayed name, so you will immediately see that you run them.

Ok. I see "Opti" in the name of app in boinc manager.
On my Amd FX6300 with Windows 10 64 bit, first results with Avx version:
Standard App: 9400/9800 seconds
Opti App: 3400/3500 seconds

:-O

More tests on the road....

It turned out that on my SandyBridge CPUs SSE version was the fastest one (I suspect that unaligned loads kills performance of AVX version). it needs about 1 hour per WUs (original version needed about 2.5 hours).

:-O

BTW, I am working on optimized app for TN-Grid. After applying various code optimizations and adding AVX support, it works about 30% faster on my Sandy Bridge Xeons, and so far all WUs passed validation. I think I will be able to release its code and compiled binaries to everyone before Christmas, I am still working on it.

VERY interesting.
The problem is: are results of optimized version "good" for admins team?
If Valterc or others will say that it's ok, we will ready to crunch!! :-)

If you see the text 'vv_erf045' inside a workunit name, just read the first message of this thread.

Why not insert it in home page (so boinc manager can read it)?
