The team of researchers includes, the only Italian, Nicola Segata, professor at the Department of Cell, Computational and Integrative Biology Cibio of the University of Trento and the European Institute of Oncology.
The project is called PROSPECT and has been selected along with four others by Cancer Grand Challenges, a global funding initiative co-founded by Cancer Research UK and the National Cancer Institute that supports scientists around the world who come together in research teams to study innovative ways of tackling cancer diseases. The team was between 176 shortlisted teams worldwide who submitted proposals for cancer investigations. The winning teams were announced today.
The team, led by Andrew Chan of Massachusetts General Hospital and Yin Cao of Washington University in St. Louis, will receive up to $25 million to pursue the research. Nearly $750,000 will go to Cibio.

The University have bought a new one and they planned the moving procedure. The HPC cluster should be moved this Monday (March, 6th), the other resources will follow.
I will reasonably shut down the server when needed, I will tell you when as soon as I know the date. Meanwhile the work generator will be active just a few hours a day, so very few workunits will be available.

The main goal right now is to finish the FANTOM-1 experiment. Alongside there will be another dataset of Vitis vinifera. We are planning to do new experiments, either with other datasets or organisms. We are also evaluating the feasibility to do something with Single-cell transcriptomics data.

They were just a few hundreds, very fast.. The students are working with the results.

The name of our work unit will contain the string 'dfcc_e'.

I just put a small number of the new workunits into the queue, their names contain the string _Mm_.

I only run fma for TN-GRID. Are there BOINC projects that benefit with from AVX-512?

I just inserted in the queue 51 genes (51*18 workunits) related to leukemia (see https://omim.org/), to be "expanded" within the proterna_vae64lat dataset.

I just deployed the FMA optimized version of the application for Windows x64.
