I have some ghost tasks (tasks that appear only on the webpage) on my hosts.

I also got a few, the only thing to do is to do nothing (they will be resent after missing the deadline)

The filesystem is acting horribly, again... I've stopped the work generator. Also expect to get errors/timeouts while trying to upload files.

No, the problem has not yet solved, the file system still remains unreliable, sometimes it works well, sometimes not. Anyway, the people at UniTN told me that before the end of the year the new one will be available. In that case I will probably need to stop the server for a couple of days, I obviously will put a note into the news.

Many of you already have noticed our server is having performance issues because of the external file system we use. We really hope that the people working on it will be able to fix it soon, we just have to wait.
In the meantime, in order to mitigate the problem, I will stop, from time to time, some of the server components like the upload handler and the work generator.

The larger output file size for these workunits is normal.
The file system is behaving weirdly, my guess is that the problem is not the I/O throughput but something related to the i-nodes or the net interface. It takes minutes just to delete a single file...

Usual problem with the external file system becoming painfully slow. I stop the work generator and the uploading, from time to time, to mitigate the problem.

Unfortunately no news about the GPU application, it seems that it's not an easy task, also probably not worthy...
We had received an extension from AMD so, yes, we are still using their computing resources, mainly for ML work related to single cell data (we'll like to play with this kind of data using gene@home in the future), here the challenge is to start with single cell data and try to transform it into something suitable for our PC-IM algorithm, we'll see..

That is probably related to our external file system (which has some problems), there is nothing I can do but try to delete zero size files (which I did right now). Sometimes it helps, sometimes no

Got a 'MySQL server has gone away' error, obviously unexpected. The work generator, in such cases, needs a manual kick-off... I did this as soon as I noticed it.

I just put a small number of the new workunits into the queue, their names contain the string _Mm_.
They should be quite fast, around twenty minutes on my benchmark computer, probably half of this on a modern cpu.
If you happen to catch one please give us some feedback.

Boinc does this:

I just increased 1 (recent credit average) to 2, it should helps

I run it along with SiDock. Ljubljana is 265 km due east of Trento.
It makes for a geographically-balanced machine.

Well, by driving it is more than 440Km (fastest route, around 4 hours)

Just substitute avx with sse2 everywhere inside the app_info you got. Just remember to download the right executable for your platform, also do a "chmod a+x"
