I am getting a very strange error when BOINC attempts to upload a result:

Looking at the uploaded size, it seems to have uploaded "successfully" (5.97/5.79 KB), except that something must gone wrong afterwards. I am not an expert, but some server process must be holding on to the lock on the file. This appears to be when the problem occurred:

BOINC has managed to successfully upload a number of results since then.

I came here to report exactly the same thing. I have one file that won't upload with this

error, but all other uploads are okay. I first noticed the error about 18 hours ago, and it has been repeated a number of times since then as BOINC retries the upload.
Since everything else is uploading okay, it looks like there was some transient problem.
Is there any way to correct this, or is it best to abort the task and let someone else run it?

I just tried aborting the task and that hasn't worked.
Hopefully, once the deadline passes, it will sort itself out.

That is probably related to our external file system (which has some problems), there is nothing I can do but try to delete zero size files (which I did right now). Sometimes it helps, sometimes no
