We are starting to distribute another experiment (single gene expansion) with a new Vitis vinifera dataset. This dataset contains the same number of genes but a much larger expression data; running times are therefore expected to be much longer (around twice).

In the "Optimizations" thread, it was mentioned that Daniel's latest optimizations would be included in the official version toward the end of May. Has that happened yet?

Not yet. We need a little bit more of testing before doing this.

just for curiosity, how many WU form 1 gene?

This depends on the organism, the size of the expression dataset and other variables. In the current experiment (Vitis vinifera vvm2) any single gene expansion is made by 116 workunits.
