We are deploying the new version of the application (v 0.10), for all the platforms, including sse2, avx and fma. The new application is way faster than the previous one, thanks to the user Daniel who made it. See this thread (http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/forum_thread.php?id=135) for further info.

Sorry, this probably a really daft question but, as I have little experience of "going backwards" from an optimised application to an official one ... how does one go about downloading this new official version if one is already using Daniel's optimised version?

If you want to go back from using the app_info.xml to the normal behavior you have to: - Make sure not to have any more tasks in the client (you may abort them or wait until completed and reported) - Stop boinc, remove the app_info.xml file, start boinc, update the project If you have tasks at the time you reset the project they 'disappear'.... (normal boinc behavior)

This did cause a small issue for me when BOINC thought that the new work units would only take 29 minutes but they actually run for 3 hours (they used to run for up to 6 hours (hyper-threading is on)).

We are not still able to give BOINC a good estimate of the expected running time (we are working on a benchmark system for it). But after some tasks the client usually adjusts it.

I just got some of the old 0.09 tasks. How long before these are out of the system?

I just got some of the old 0.09 tasks. How long before these are out of the system? Unless you have a Mac (we still need some time in order to make the app) that's probably my fault, I forgot to 'deprecate' the old 0.09 apps. It should be fixed now, sorry, you can abort the 0.09 workunits.
