I finally found the time to implement the badges system, here is the list with the required credit numbers

bronze 50,000
silver 100,000
gold 500,000
amethyst 1,000,000
ruby 2,000,000
turquoise 5,000,000
jade 10,000,000
sapphire 20,000,000
emerald 50,000,000
diamond 100,000,000
pink diamond 200,000,000
purple diamond 500,000,000

I use the internal BOINC server way for checking badges so they are not assigned in 'real time' but only a few times during the day. Hope you like them...

Project-Newbie here.

50000 points for first badge. Isn't that a little bit, if not extremly overblown?

I mean, I have a reasonably fast PC, but even then it takes close to two month, if one core used, as I just calculated. That's about four times more than some Badges at WCG and certainly more than a vast majority of other projects with badges.

Hmmmm.

Maybe a 25000cr badge should be better. a "Wood Bedge" for example

What purpose do these badges have?

They are something to show your contribution to the project. You currently have two, one is for your RAC!

You should add Platinum at 250,000,000 and Rhodium at 500,000,000.

I thought of adding more badges, I like your suggestion, need to figure out the color... also Diamond is the top right now, should find something more valuable

Here some ideas https://www.gemrockauctions.com/it/learn/additional-gemstone-information/a-list-of-precious-and-semi-precious-gemstones-and-their-treatments

If possible, maybe you can transfer Diamont to 1 Billion
An introduce a 100milions 250milions and 500milions

My Votes are for Amethyst, Aquamarine, Pearl or Mystic Quartz ;)

>>> show your contribution to the project

The badges have no real meaning then. My contribution to the project can be seen anyway.

True, they have no physical function but they do have a psychological function and, once set up, take very little effort.

OK, I decided to add some more "expensive" diamonds to the badge list, got some information around and found that it would be pink, purple, blue and red. Already added the pink one, more will follow when I'll find some time... (hope you like them)

I thought ruby was more expensive but blue & pink diamond and jadeite have it beat.
